Eat & Drink
Ketchikan dining hugs the docks and Creek Street: chowder houses, harbor fish shacks and a century-old café, with dive bars, a small brewery and a Tlingit-owned dining room on the hill.
New York Cafe
A café with roots in the early 1900s, in a 1924 building on Stedman Street that looks over the boats in Thomas Basin.
Pioneer Cafe
Old-school Mission Street diner where fishermen and tradespeople come for big breakfasts at all hours.
Alaska Crêpe Co
Counter-service crêperie just before the Creek Street footbridge, filling crêpes both sweet and savory.
Walking map: the berths and downtown Ketchikan
The four city berths run along Front Street, numbered 1 to 4 from south to north. Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum and the salmon ladder are a short walk south and east, and the Totem Heritage Center is about 15 to 20 minutes on foot or a free summer shuttle ride.
